Senior Spotlight: Dylan

Dylan Manley edit

Our Senior Spotlight this week is Dylan from Seminole HS. Dylan is involved in Bright Futures and Baseball at school and he also does community service at the Lake Mary Prep concession stand. He also rides BMX in his spare time. His favorite book is Hunger Games and his favorite movie is Transformers.

When we asked Dylan if he had an influential teacher in his life that inspired him, he told us “Yes, my 8th grade science teacher set me on the right track”. He certainly seems to have continued on with that inspiration because he has a definite plan for his future.Dylan Manley2 edit

After graduating High School Dylan hopes to attend either SSC, UCF or UF and plans to go into General Contracting and study Architecture so that he can be just like his dad!

We wish you the best Dylan and hope you have a wonderful Senior year!

Senior Spotlight: Essence

This week’s Senior Spotlight is Essence from Wekiva HS. Essence is in AP Classes and participates in AP extra curricular activities as well as volunteers in the library and often does community service projects after school as well.

She hasn’t completely decided on which school she plans to attend after High School but she does have a few options on careers that she is considering. She would like to either go into the Navy, go into Law and become a Judge one day or possibly go into Finance and Accounting.

Essence has not always had it easy. She has chosen to persevere despite complications such as her mom getting into a car accident during her Freshman year and becoming paraplegic. She then took off school for a little while but she came back and excelled with all honors and AP classes. She told us “not allowing myself to get dragged behind was my most challenging obstacle along with having so many outside distractions.”

Essence it sounds like you work very hard to overcome obstacles that try to get in your way and we hope you continue to do so as you work towards a bright future! We hope you have a wonderful Senior year!

Emily also shared some personal interesting facts about herself with us. She is one of fifteen grandchildren, she is a natural redhead and she is 5’11”.

We also asked Emily if she had any influential teachers in her life and she told us, “Mr.Galindez- U.S. History. He made school exciting and allowed me to express my personality”.

We wish you the the best with you Senior year and your endeavours after graduating Emily and congrats on being our first spotlight for the Class of 2018!

Senior Spotlight: Claire

St. Lucie West Centennial High senior, Claire, has started her career path long before graduating. She is graduating with honors but will also have her associates degree and a CLairecertification in child care which she received by participating in the early childhood program.

She isn’t stopping there though! Claire intends to use her child care experience along with a medical degree to work in pediatric oncology.

We asked Claire who an influential teacher in her life was and she told us, “My early childhood teacher has been my most influential. She has inspired me to aim for goals no matter how high and to always rise above in tough situations”.

Claire we applaud you in all you have accomplished! Good luck in everything you do!
